PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Jourdan has worked in almost every facet of the food industry and joined Northstar after several years in supply chain management for the food and beverage industry. She is known for her ability to build strong relationships, strategic thinking, and appetite to continually learn and challenge herself.

JOURDAN AFTER WORK: Jourdan enjoys spending time with her husband and dog outside of work, as well as with her friends and family. She is a passionate advocate for fostering and rescuing dogs. When not with her human or furry friends, Jourdan enjoys cooking, scuba diving, and growing her wide variety of houseplants.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Despite growing up in a suburb of NYC, Tom’s passion for the environment first formed as a young boy caring for his family’s vegetable garden. Tom chose to focus his college education on sustainability and the environment. Prior to joining Northstar Recycling, Tom worked at the Paleontological Research Institution during his college years. At Cornell, Tom served as captain of his club soccer team and is excited to bring his leadership skills, friendly demeanor, and passion for the environment to his clients at Northstar Recycling.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Chris’s background is in business and operations. He has worked as a coach and administrator in a University Athletic Department.
EDUCATION: B.A. Business, Cazenovia College. MBA, Western New England University and M.S. Leadership, Western New England University.
CHRIS AFTER WORK: Chris enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, and working out. He is a big fan of the NY Yankees, NY Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and fishing.

Brian Roach

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Brian joined Northstar with over 15 years of experience in the recycling industry. He earned is postgraduate degree in Business at the Indiana Institute of Technology. Early in his career, he was a packaging sales representative in the paper mill and film industries. Some of his former clients are end users in the recycling programs he is involved with today. Brian spent a short time as a commodities buyer before focusing most of his attention designing Zero Waste to Landfill programs for his recycling clients. Brian is passionate about building a circular economy and believes everyone has something to contribute to a more sustainable future.
EDUCATION: M.B.A., Indiana Institute of Technology. B.S Psychology and Political Science, Francis Marion University.
BRIAN AFTER WORK: Brian values spending time with his wife, Crystal, and two sons, Tyler and Hayden. He enjoys traveling with his wife and attending sporting events or orchestra concerts that his sons participate in. During the weekend, you can find Brian on the lake, fishing or kayaking. He is active in the community, donating his time at the Atlanta Food Bank to eradicate food insecurity in urban areas.

Alexandra Nichols

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Prior to joining Northstar, Alexandra worked in the healthcare field as a Registered Dietitian. In addition to providing medical nutrition therapy services, she worked on many process improvement initiatives with her nutrition team and created standards of care for her patient populations. Though she is grateful for her experience within the healthcare field, Alexandra spent her final semester of her M.P.A. program studying climate change, food waste and waste diversion practices, which intensified her interest in environmental health and sustainability. She was thrilled to join the Northstar team, where she can help clients reach their recycling goals, while simultaneously contributing to a more sustainable future.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: With more than two decades in food manufacturing and +10 years in sustainability, Lori specializes in designing systems that reduce waste, improve accuracy, and create measurable cost savings. She began in frontline production, moving to warehouse operations, Quality assurance (food), Human Resources, and ESS where she developed a deep understanding of systems, workflows, and the importance of operational efficiency. As she advanced into environmental, safety, and sustainability leadership, Lori went on to lead the development and rollout of a centralized recycling program spanning more than 800 sites, unifying manufacturing, warehouse, and retail operations under one scalable framework. Her leadership is defined by clarity, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to turn complex operational challenges into practical, repeatable or custom solutions.
Each role has reinforced her belief that success isn’t just about outcomes—it’s about building systems that work, empowering people, and making sustainability practical, profitable, and personal.
EDUCATION: UACCB – A.A. General Studies w/business focus;
LORI AFTER WORK: Lori enjoys spending time with her two daughters, Jasmine and Madison, along with the family’s two dogs and cat. She is a creative writer actively pursuing her goal of publishing a novel. Lori also shares a love of DIY home projects with her father, that reflect her resourceful and purpose-driven approach. She is a proud part-owner of Previously Yours, a thrift and resale store in her hometown, continuing to blend sustainability and community engagement into every facet of her life.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Jacob joined Northstar after graduating from Cornell University. His background includes work at the intersection of sustainability, agriculture, and entrepreneurship. During his time at Cornell, Jacob contributed to an economic assessment of the Cornell Lake Source Cooling Project and research on pollination resources in the New York State apple sector. He also helped to manage a student-run grocery store where he worked to source food from local farms. Jacob brings a “can-do” attitude to the table and is excited to help clients meet their recycling goals.

JACOB AFTER WORK: Outside of work, Jacob enjoys pairing his passions for traveling and fly fishing. He also enjoys hiking, paddling, foraging, and growing his own food.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Emily joined Northstar Recycling after developing a background in environmental conservation through the application of Geographic Information Systems technology (GIS). She graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science as an honors student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. While in college, she was a coxswain for the NCAA Women’s Rowing team and a member of the iCons program where she explored global environmental issues and their solutions. She bring her passion for a sustainable future to her work at Northstar.

EMILY AFTER WORK: Outside of work, Emily is fond of spending time with her dog, going on walks or hanging out in her backyard together. She enjoys creative projects around the house that make use of secondhand materials and hopes to turn her backyard into a wildlife oasis.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Rory joined Northstar right out of college. She spent her time as an undergrad working on various research projects, including population controls on deer for the Fort Drum US Military Base and the distribution of ant species on the Galápagos Islands. Rory formed an interest in sustainability at a young age when her parents introduced her to recycling and composting and showed her the impact they can have on the environment.
EDUCATION: B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability, Cornell University. Galápagos Academic Institute for the Arts and Sciences Study Abroad – Evolution, Ecology and Conservation.
RORY AFTER WORK: In her free time, Rory enjoys spending time with her coworkers and friends, being outside, trying new restaurants and working out.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Willa joined Northstar after graduating from Boston College. She spent her college years studying environmental challenges and ethical business practices, doing research on human-wildlife coexistence, and working in corporate social responsibility. Willa also spent a semester at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand where she expanded her knowledge of ecology and the impact of climate change. Willa’s studies inspired her to pursue a career focused on sustainability in the private sector.
EDUCATION: B.A. Environmental Studies with a focus on societal adaption to climate change, Boston College
WILLA AFTER WORK: After work Willa enjoys hiking, going to the beach, learning to cook, and attending concerts. In Boston, Willa spent time volunteering at the New England Aquarium.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Chandler joined Northstar straight out of college after studying environmental science with a focus on sustainability. She was a member of the campus chapter of charity: water and organized educational and fundraising events to alleviate water scarcity. She also worked at Janji, a social impact focused start-up that combined her love of running and funding clean water projects. Her interest in environmental issues and the impact society can have on them led her to Northstar Recycling.
EDUCATION: B.S. in Environmental Geoscience from Boston College.
CHANDLER AFTER WORK: Chandler enjoys going for runs, listening to podcasts and trying new recipes. On any given weekend, you’ll find her spending time with friends and family in New York City, Boston or back home in Duxbury, MA.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Dan brings project management experience with a focus on sustainability from across the food value chain. In his previous role, he led marketing consulting projects for CPG clients. Dan’s other experience includes environmental due diligence for waste infrastructure investments, and he started his career in foodservice, working for seven years in New York restaurants, first as a cook and a chef, and then in procurement.
EDUCATION: B.A. Williams College, MBA and MEM Yale Univerity
DAN AFTER WORK: When not at work, Dan spends time with his wife and daughters. He also enjoys reading true crime novels, playing tennis, and making vinegar.

Carolina Rabbat

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Carolina is a 2020 graduate of Columbia University, where she received her B.A. in Sustainable Development. While at Columbia, Carolina conducted research on the relationship between ocean circulation in the North Atlantic and climate change, presenting a paper as first author at the world’s largest earth science conference. Carolina was also president of Columbia’s Cycling and Triathlon teams, and she continues to enjoy competing in regional and local cycling and triathlon races around the country. Carolina grew up in São Paulo, Brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese as well as English. Today, Carolina utilizes her passion for environmental sustainability through her work as a Client Development Executive at Northstar, where she helps companies find innovative ways to reduce their waste and recycle more.
EDUCATION: B.A. in Sustainable Development, Columbia University.
CAROLINA AFTER WORK: Outside of work, you’ll find Carolina riding her bike everywhere, dreaming up new recipes to cook, or walking her dog Henry.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Reagan has gained people and problem-solving skills throughout her time working in various industries and roles. Most recently, her work at a local recycling company in Denver inspired her move to Northstar – where she hopes to continue making an impact reducing waste and strengthening the circular economy.

REAGAN AFTER WORK: Reagan is happiest when she is fully unplugged and immersed in the remote outdoors, especially when going on adventures with her partner, Daniel, and their dog, Earl. When she isn’t out exploring the natural world, she enjoys good food, action sports, and visiting art museums. Variety and spontaneity keep her feeling inspired, but she also loves a good rest day.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Alex joined Northstar straight out of college. Alex has worked in a variety of hotels and even a restaurant tech company during his time in college. The hotels ranged from Hilton DoubleTree to the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. After studying abroad in a sustainability program, Alex realized he wanted to combine his interests by joining Northstar. He believes he can apply his expertise in hospitality with a strong passion for providing excellent service to clients, helping them achieve their goals of sustainability through recycling.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Atlanta brings nearly a decade of experience in global supply chain management and sustainable business practices at Unilever and L’Oréal. A graduate of Columbia University with a degree in sustainable development, Atlanta has built her career leading complex supply chain operations for global brands while focusing on efficiency, waste reduction, and long-term sustainability. She has a proven track record of cross functional leadership and collaboration to create innovative solutions that balance operational performance with environmental sustainability.

ATLANTA AFTER WORK: Outside of work, Atlanta loves to be on the move, whether than means competing in 70.3 Ironmans or running to her favorite neighborhood coffee shop. As a new mom, she loves spending time with her family and traveling to the U.K. where she is a dual citizen. She’s happily outnumbered by her three greyhounds, who are just as fast on the pavement as they are at stealing the best spots on the couch. Whether it’s competing in a new destination or savoring a quiet walk with her family, she finds joy in both big adventures and simple moments.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Alex brings over 15 years of Sales and Operations experience in the Supply Chain industry. He has worked for both non-asset and asset based transportation providers, ranging from well-established trucking companies to tech-forward freight brokerage startups. Alex leans on this experience and adaptability to provide customers with creative and efficient supply chain solutions. He takes great pride in maintaining a high level of integrity, being approachable, collaborative and respectful of everyone he engages with.

ALEX AFTER WORK: Alex most enjoys spending time with his wife (Noelle) and their two children (William and Luke). The DeMarinos’ are avid travelers, and the family tries to visit a different country each year. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Nicole brings 20 years of experience spanning customer service, banking, logistics, transportation, and procurement. With 8 years of expertise in banking, focusing on client relations, compliance, and process improvement, along with 12 years in logistics, transportation and procurement, she has excelled in vendor management, supply chain optimization, and cost control. Nicole takes great pride in delivering excellent customer service, building client relationships, and leading teams to achieve organizational goals while exceeding customer expectations.
NICOLE AFTER WORK: Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin, and their two kids, Hudson and Allison. Both children are very active-Hudson in football and motorcross, and Allison in dance and theater-which keeps the whole family on the go! Nicole loves being surrounded by her family and is passionate about staying involved in her community, especially through agricultural associations and local activities. She served as the Carolina Feed Industry Association President for 3 years.

Jessie enjoys working for a company that makes a conscious effort to make the world a cleaner environment and believes that honesty is truly the best policy.
JESSIE AFTER WORK: When Jessie is not at work, you will likely find her spending time with her husband and children. As a family, they are most often found taking part in various outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, boating, or trail riding. Jessie also spends as much time as possible with her family, friends and serves as a member of the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Department.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Giuliana joined the Northstar team after graduating from college. During her time at the University of Michigan, she gained exposure to a variety of environmental fields through her professional fraternity, Epsilon Eta. After a summer spent taking sustainability courses at EARTH University in Costa Rica and volunteering with a zero-waste company in India, Giuliana felt determined to pursue a career focused on sustainable waste solutions.
EDUCATION: B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, Neuroscience from the University of Michigan
GIULIANA AFTER WORK: A Midwest native, Giuliana has spent the bulk of her time after work exploring the New England area. She can be found running, listening to live music, or cozying up with a good book!

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Andy is a former Royal Marines Commando and a dual citizen UK/USA. After his military service, Andy has spent his career in the renewables and environmental industry in successively challenging roles. He has vast experience in working with national brands in the industrial, logistics, manufacturing and distribution segments.
EDUCATION: Bedford Modern School. UK
ANDY AFTER WORK: Andy loves to spend time with his wife Jenny, his 3 sons and his 2 granddaughters. He enjoys traveling and visits his UK family every year. He loves to play golf and had a hole in one in 2006. Andy also possesses a strong love of gardening and sharing the abundance of produce with family and friends.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Blake started his career in the Commercial Real Estate industry, where he sold and leased large industrial buildings in Southern California. His passion for sales and business development continued when entering the sustainably sector in 2019. He is a strong leader with a background in organic/food waste diversion, commodity trading, biofuels, depack, beverage destruction, composting, and food processing residuals (FPR). Blake is a firm believer in asking the right questions, listening patiently, diagnosing client needs, and identifying pain-points to develop creative solutions.
EDUCATION: Studied Business Sustainability at W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and earned his BA in Sociology at Iona University in New Rochelle, New York.
BLAKE AFTER WORK: Blake enjoys spending time with his wife, Jamie, and their two young children, LaRue and Roknar. He is an avid golfer, enjoys running, and being outdoors. His favorite time of the day is sunrise, where he will either be on a run or doing an early morning workout to start his day.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Prior to Northstar, Abby worked in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and gained firsthand experience in the world of product creation. The idea of finding creative recycling solutions within this industry inspired her to pursue a career in sustainability. Both her professional and academic backgrounds highlight her interests in a healthier environment and enthusiasm toward building relationships.

He is a highly-organized team player who enjoys transforming complex data/inputs into value-add analysis and actions. Prior to joining Northstar, Drew was a Private Equity Associate at Black Diamond where he focused on driving performance improvement at portfolio companies.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Danielle brings over 20 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance, with deep expertise in general ledger integrity and GAAP compliant financial reporting. Her career spans multiple industries—including manufacturing, security, data centers, and CPG—giving her a broad perspective on how strong financial processes support business performance. Throughout her roles, Danielle has consistently focused on strengthening operations: improving processes, identifying efficiencies, and implementing SOX controls wherever they are needed.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: With over 25 years of experience working as a teacher, coach, and summer program administrator at Dexter Southfield (a prep school in Brookline, MA) Scott is a beloved mentor and inspirational leader. Applying his impressive background, Scott enhances our team as the Director of Employee Experience, in addition to heading many of the human resource elements of the company.
EDUCATION: B.S. in Education, Penn State University; MEd in Educational Research, Measurement, & Evaluation, Boston College
SCOTT AFTER WORK: Scott spends time after work with his family. A former college athlete and high school basketball coach, he is a big fan of Boston sports teams. He enjoys attending games, going for long walks in the neighborhood, and spending time at the gym a few times each week.
